Job summary

Summit Health in Cypress, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and ensure a seamless visit experience. You will welcome patients, prepare rooms, perform point-of-care tests and EKGs, and help providers with care delivery. Candidates should be nationally certified or registered MA, with current BLS, 1 year of experience preferred, and high school diploma.

Phlebotomy experience is required. You'll work on a team delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across primary care

Qualifications

Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant is required.
Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
1 year of experience preferred.
Phlebotomy experience required.
High School Diploma/Equivalency required.

Responsibilities

Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
