Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant in Cypress, TX to support patients and provide a seamless visit experience. You will welcome patients, prepare them for appointments, and communicate required information for their visit.

The role requires Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, current BLS, and phlebotomy experience. At least 1 year in primary care or urgent care is preferred, with a HS diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required (NHA, AAMA, AMT, AMCA, NAHP, NCCT, or AAH).
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER.
• Phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests and EKGs as ordered or indicated.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
