Job summary

VillageMD in Cypress, TX is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care and communication, ensuring an exceptional patient experience. You will assist with preparing patients for visits, perform point-of-care tests including EKGs, and handle phlebotomy and specimen processing.

Required: Nationally Certified or Registered MA, current BLS, HS diploma; phlebotomy experience; 1 year of experience preferred in primary or urgent care settings.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified or registered Medical Assistant required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered, suture/staple removal and other patient care activities.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Presents instruction to patients regarding medications and diet.
