Job summary

Marathon Health in Rockford, IL, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. You will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver patient-centered care, perform vitals, draw blood, administer injections, and handle front-desk duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications include at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant, completion of an MA program, and MA certification or registration where required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program.
• National or state MA certification/registration preferred or required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections and wound care.
• Assist with procedures and coordinate with labs for tests.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, medical record requests, referrals, check-in/out.
• Document data accurately in the medical record per guidelines.
• Communicate results to patients via e-message, mail or phone.
• Support outreach to patients to improve engagement and care gaps.
