Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The MA works closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience to our patients.

The MA performs both as a Medical Receptionist and executes clinical responsibilities as directed. Essential duties include taking vitals, performing blood draws, injections, and assisting with procedures, coordinating with labs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• MA certification or registration is required in states where certification is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures rooms are stocked and ready.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, and assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, medical record requests, referrals, and patient check-in/out.
• Record accurate data in the medical record and manage test results communications.
