Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join its community-based care teams. You will greet and room patients, take vital signs, perform routine tests, and assist with vaccinations and procedures under RN or provider supervision.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration.
• 3–5 years in MA role preferred.
• EMR experience required.
• 2+ years with geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Room patients promptly to ensure smooth flow.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience during visits.
• Take vital signs, chief complaint, and review medications.
• Conduct patient screenings per protocols.
• Order supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Perform routine quality control and infection control checks.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for visits.
• Provide telephonic support under RN/provider guidance.
• Assist providers with home-based care for high-risk members.
• Administer vaccines and procedures under supervision where applicable.
• Perform waived lab tests and schedule diagnostic testing.
• Support care team with medical records and EMR filing.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care.
