Job summary

American Oncology Management Company Hawaii Cancer Care seeks a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures and perform phlebotomy, lab testing, and QA/QC. You will operate in a multi-site oncology setting, maintain EMR documentation, and prepare specimens for analysis.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, recording data, coordinating outside testing, and supporting safe, compliant patient care while following state/federal guidelines. Travel to clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• One year of medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Perform laboratory blood work and venipuncture.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as bone marrow sampling and pelvic exams.
• Document in EMR and maintain logs and equipment records.
• Gather patient vitals and PHQ-9 screening as requested.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as directed.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in the laboratory.
