Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties (vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy) and assists during routine procedures.
• Performs point-of-care testing and provides patient instructions.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, within expiration dates.
• Reviews medication lists in the EMR; may retrieve Schedule VI and OTC meds under supervision; not authorized to administer meds.
• Uses EMR to queue prescription renewals and document tasks for billing.
• Prepares schedules, charts and documents for clinical activities; procures and correlates medical correspondence.
• Monitors patient and visitor flow; liaises between patients and staff to ensure smooth service; screens calls if needed.
