Job summary

Advocate Health's AMG Chicago Family Medicine location is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

The position is a dual role (50% MA, 50% Phlebotomist) at 40 hours per week. Typical schedule includes Monday–Friday 8a–7p and Saturdays 8a–12p, with one late night per week and one Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience within the last 5 years.
• Demonstrated customer service skills to interface with physicians, patients, visitors, and other healthcare employees.
• Knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from patients.
• Ensure specimens are properly labeled.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Order and verify test requests; document information for QA/improvement.
