Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support care teams at 2301 E 93rd St. The role requires a MA diploma or certification (or 2+ years MA experience) with phlebotomy preferred.

Availability two weeknights to 7pm and 1–2 Saturdays per month is needed. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting during procedures, administering vaccines, processing lab tasks, and documenting in the EHR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.
• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
