GENERAL SUMMARY

• Department: Pediatric Clinic
• Schedule: Full-time Days, Monday - Friday
• Location: Detroit, MI

Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

• Assist with treatments ordered by the physician as supervised by the physician or registered nurse. Perform select clinical duties such as interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording information on patients' charts, and preparing treatment rooms.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Manage supplies by ordering and stocking, and assist in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Document diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. Acceptable from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Medical Assistant certification obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant job-specific experience.
