Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) for Surgical Services in Evanston, IL. This full-time role supports front desk and clinical tasks, including phlebotomy and injections when needed.

The position requires a high school diploma (medical assisting education preferred) and CPR certification. Experience in a medical office is favored; paid time off and benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association required; MA certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience; prior medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registration.
• Verify insurances and check in/out patients.
• Provide front office support and greet patients; escort to exam rooms.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight); phlebotomy and injections may be required.
