Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health in Lake Forest, IL seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) for the Internal Medicine practice. You will handle patient check-in/out, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, and document vitals, allergies, and medications.

Phlebotomy and injections may be required in this role. This full‑time position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; medical assisting program preferred.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; MA certification preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registration.
• Check in/out patients and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms; document vitals and reason for visit.
• Provide basic front office support and phlebotomy/injections may be required.
