Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant I / Patient Service Specialist for the Endocrinology department on a per diem basis. You will support clinicians, take vital signs, perform in‑office tests, and manage patient intake and documentation in the EMR with confidentiality and professionalism.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and familiarity with EMR systems, with Athena a plus, and offers opportunities to contribute to patient care in a multispecialty

Qualifications

Strong customer service excellence expected.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Experience with EMR strongly preferred (Athena a plus).

Responsibilities

Rooms patients and prepares them for provider visit.
Takes vital signs and records in EMR (BP, temp, pulse, oximetry, weight, height).
Enter patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy info, prescription list into EMR.
Obtain consents and complete forms for visit types; perform in-office tests as needed.
Register patients in EMR and verify demographics and insurance information; schedule appointments and testing.
