Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Methuen is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist to join the clinical and administrative team. Under supervision, you will support providers, prep patients, and manage visit flow in the ambulatory setting.

You will perform vital signs, EMR documentation, vaccines and in-office testing, triage calls, scheduling, and insurance verification. This role offers part-time hours and exposure to a busy multispecialty practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved medical assistant program preferred.
• 1–3 years of medical assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Take vital signs and record in EMR.
• Record patient history and meds in EMR.
• Obtain consents and complete visit forms.
• Perform in-office tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Chaperone providers as needed and administer vaccines.
• Triage and route incoming calls; assist with scheduling.
• Verify demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and testing per protocol.
• Identify supply needs and assist with ordering.
