Job summary

VillageMD in Houston seeks a Medical Assistant to support patients and improve the care experience. You will welcome patients, prepare them for visits, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic point-of-care tests, and help with patient education.

Requires Nationally Certified or Registered MA, current BLS, and 1 year of relevant experience. Phlebotomy skills and a high school diploma are essential. This is a full-time on-site role with VillageMD benefits.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience in primary care or urgent care preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments and inform them of required information.
• Perform point-of-care tests, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen processing.
• Collect vital signs, histories and screenings, and document findings.
• Assist providers with procedures and patient education.
• Maintain clean and stocked treatment rooms and equipment.
