VillageMD in Houston seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care and communication, enhancing the patient experience and loyalty. You will welcome patients, prepare them for visits, and clearly convey information about services.

Responsibilities include performing point-of-care tests and EKGs, documenting vitals, handling refills as directed, and maintaining clean treatment areas. Certification and BLS are required; 1 year of experience preferred.

Formación

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (NHA, CMA, AMT, AMCA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH) required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Provides instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet.
