Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care, room patients, and support clinical procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The role requires a Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent experience, with 1+ year of medical assisting, EMT-P or Military Medic training being a plus. Certification is preferred and may qualify for tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a Medical Assistant program diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with physician-ordered procedures.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.
