Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient access and flow in a collaborative environment. The MA will assist with non-clinical tasks, schedule patients for visits, imaging, and labs, prepare charts, check vitals, room patients, and assist with procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent back-office experience, and current BLS certification. Travel to multiple sites may occur.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR equivalent medical back-office experience.
• Ability to anticipate provider needs/ critical thinking skills that come from experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients including follow up visits, imaging and lab work.
• Prepare chart elements and check vital signs.
• Room patients and assist with procedures.
• Coordinate non-clinical tasks to ensure smooth patient access and flow.
