Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care in our clinics, performing rooming tasks, vital signs, history taking, health maintenance, and screenings, and assisting providers with procedures.

Lab duties include venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA‑waived tests; administer medications and vaccines; manage medications, scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging; and maintain a clean, stocked work environment with effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills and EMR experience.
• Ability to perform routine and some complex clinical tasks within MA scope.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs, medical history, and screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT; manage lab results and CLIA-waived tests.
