Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform rooming, vital signs, history taking, and basic screening. You will assist providers with procedures, collect specimens, perform POCT, venipuncture, and manage medication reconciliation. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with adherence to CLIA guidelines and safety protocols.

Must complete an accredited MA program or equivalent training; HS diploma required. Certification requirements vary by division; BLS may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training.
• For IL/WI: two years of verifiable MA experience in the last five years.
• Wake Forest/Floyd & Navicent divisions have similar MA program or experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and review medical history.
• Assist providers with procedures and perform routine clinical tasks.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen labeling, and POCT per protocol.
• Administer medications and vaccines per safety rules; manage refills and scheduling.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and effective communication with the team.
