Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) seeks a medical professional to provide general medical care in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include obtaining patient vitals, explaining procedures, administering medications, and maintaining documentation.

AFC is a leading primary and urgent care provider in the U.S., offering services seven days a week. The position allows flexibility and involves working closely with patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for processing.
• Perform laboratory tests and quality controls.
• Respond to all lab messages and call requests.
• Perform drug screening procedures per regulations.
• Ensure immunizations are documented and administered.
• Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
