Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate OR 1-3 years experience as a medical assistant, emergency medical technician or certified nursing attendant (with valid certificate) OR successful completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures; documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists with procedures as required; follows infection control protocols.
• Performs daily controls/calibration of laboratory equipment and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Performs electrocardiograms and phlebotomy per provider orders; uses proper PPE and disinfection procedures.
• Assists physicians and nurses with exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Maintains clean examination rooms and stocks supplies; completes required logs.
