Northwell Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses by preparing patients, recording vital signs, and assisting with diagnostic tests. You will collect specimens, document results, and help organize medical records to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate OR 1–3 years experience as a medical assistant, EMT or CNA OR successful completion of Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.

Responsabilités

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Records vital signs, height/weight, and screening results in the medical record.
• Collects specimens and assists providers in specimen collection according to protocol.
• Performs daily calibration and controls of laboratory equipment; notifies supervisor of inaccuracies.
• Helps with electrocardiograms and phlebotomy per provider orders; adheres to infection control standards.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures, ensuring patient safety and proper protocol.
• Maintains cleanliness and order in examination rooms; stocks supplies and keeps logs.
• Pre-visits chart preparation to ensure required lab results are available.
• Performs clerical tasks including filing medical records, processing forms, and handling telephones.
