Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams across outpatient settings. You will room patients, record vitals, interview and prepare patients for examinations, and assist physicians during procedures.

You will also set up treatment rooms, collect samples, and perform routine lab tests as part of a collaborative care team that values compassion and professional growth. Certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience or military medic/EMT-P training.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P considered.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Preference: Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum; perform routine laboratory tests.
