The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in our OSUP Community Medical Group practices in central Ohio.

You will participate in procedures, assist clinicians, and help prepare patients for exams and tests. Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vitals, collecting specimens, and managing communications with patients and care teams.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Diploma/Certificate from a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience recommended.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P can substitute formal MA training.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education acceptable.

Aufgaben

• Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, temp, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures; assist as ordered.
• Assist in examinations and carry out treatments and tests as needed.
• Set up equipment and prepare exam rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
• Manage medical office inbox and ensure timely communication with patients and providers.
• Oversee reception of incoming patient information and data gathering for providers.

Ausbildung

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program Diploma/Certificate

Minimum 1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
