Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a busy outpatient setting. You will work with physicians and nurses to perform routine procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vitals, preparing exam rooms, collecting specimens, and assisting with tests and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one of the listed qualifications.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
