Job summary

McLaren in Lansing, MI seeks a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will take vitals, assist with exams, prepare rooms, and document patient interactions to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent with 6 months MA/PCT experience, or completed MA/EMT/Nurse Aide/LPN programs. EMR familiarity is preferred and travel for float coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months experience as Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech.
• Completion of one of the following: MA program, EMT, Nurse Aide, LPN, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• Rural Health Designation clinics require BLS within 6 months of hire.
• Float positions may require travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient vitals and assist in examinations.
• Prepare exam rooms and organize forms/equipment for visits.
• Document interventions, vitals, medications, and responses in the patient chart or EMR.
• Administer EKGs, PFTs, immunizations, medications, and venipuncture as directed.
• Phone in prescriptions and complete lab slips and referral forms.
• Assist with gynecological exams and routine office visits.
