Job summary

McLaren Health Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care across clinics in Michigan. The role involves vital signs, injections, venipuncture, and assisting with exams and patient flow.

Responsibilities include room preparation, clerical support, documentation, and assisting with routine procedures such as EKGs, immunizations, and phlebotomy under supervision. Schedule is full-time, typically 8a-5p.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or a Patient Care Tech.
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire
• For positions designated as float positions, travel to or between clinics is required

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist in examinations and treatments.
• Prepare examining rooms and stock supplies.
• Document all interventions and patient responses in charts and computer systems.
• Assist with routine procedures for gynecological exams, physicals, and office visits.

EMR experience

CMA or RMA preferred

Education
