Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support clinical teams in a fast-paced office. You will take vital signs, perform injections and venipuncture, help prepare exam rooms, and assist with basic procedures under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least six months of MA or PCT experience, or completed one of several allied health programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months experience as Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech (MA/PCT).
• Completion of one of specified programs: medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• For Rural Health Designation clinics, BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Float positions may require travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, injections, venipuncture and administers meds as directed.
• Assists with clerical duties to maintain efficient operations.
• Prepares exam rooms and sets up necessary equipment/supplies for visits.
• Documents interventions, patient responses, and orders in charts or EHR.
• Assists with routine procedures for exams and office visits.
