Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant.
• Ability to adapt to constant change in a healthcare setting.
• Take initiative and work independently or with a team.
• Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel.
• American Heart Association BLS – PA within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms.
• Performs medical history collection and medication refills per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens and schedules/referrals as needed.
• Identifies patient risks and communicates to the nurse or provider.
• Adheres to clerical, clinical, and EMR workflows.
• Performs front desk duties and delivers excellent patient service.
• Collects co-payments, schedules appointments, updates demographics and referrals/pre-certifications.
• Delivers care with a patient-centered approach.
