Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant for the LVPG-L Family Med team in Trexlertown. You will assist with clinical care under supervision, perform history collection, room patients, and support front-office tasks while maintaining EMR workflows.

The role requires a Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently or with others. BLS certification within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant
• Ability to take initiative and function independently or collaboratively
• Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms and clinical area.
• Performs medical history collection and medication refill per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens/lab requisitions accurately and schedules and obtains authorizations for referrals and/or procedures.
• Identifies actual or potential patient risks and communicates those risks to the licensed nurse or provider.
• Performs front office support duties such as greeting patients and providing excellent customer service.
• Collects co-payments, schedules appointments, updates demographics, obtains referrals and pre-certifications.
