Job summary

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologists, and patients through patient care management and front-desk duties. The role emphasizes accuracy, quality, and timely work aligned with our mission for effortless access to quality care.

Essential duties include patient registration, vital signs, specimen handling, room preparation, coordinating referrals, and maintaining medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under supervision preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient registration, secure paperwork, and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned center.
• Coordinate provider referrals to specialists and answer patient questions.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs, point-of-care tests, and notify providers of critical cases.
• Stock supplies, maintain exam rooms, and manage medical records and charts.
• Answer phones and handle daily correspondence; perform opening/closing duties.
• Follow QA/QC logs, calibrate equipment, and submit repair tickets as needed.
