Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologists and patients through registration, exam preparation and care coordination in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

You will perform vitals, basic tests, manage supplies, maintain medical records, answer questions, and help ensure an effortless patient experience while upholding our core values of collaboration, integrity and accountability.

Qualifications

• 1+ year MA experience in hospital, primary care, ED or urgent care, or MA certifications.
• CPOE knowledge and basic life support required at hire or within 12 months if not certified.
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
• Excellent time management and the ability to multi-task, prioritize work.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduce patient registration, collect paperwork, verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments for the center.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and answer patient questions.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history, vitals and tests.
• Perform point-of-care testing and relay results to providers.
• Stock supplies, maintain exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
• Handle daily duties including opening/closing, cashing out, and safety checks.
