Job summary

UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care, LLC seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologist, and patients through patient care management, organization, and communication. The role focuses on delivering quality care and a seamless patient experience across our urgent care centers.

Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour with monthly incentive pay based on performance. Sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program required.
• BLS certification required at the time of hire.
• MA Certifications accepted: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or nursing equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists.
• Answer patient questions and provide status updates.
• Prepare patients for examination and record vitals.
• Conduct point-of-care testing as needed.
• Maintain supplies and exam rooms; manage inventory.
• Perform opening/closing duties and cash handling.
• Document daily QA logs and equipment maintenance.
