Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through patient care management, organization, and communication. The role emphasizes timely, accurate task completion and alignment with our vision of delivering an effortless care experience.

The ideal candidate has MA program completion and relevant experience under supervision. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility and paperwork.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments for the center.
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists as needed.
• Answer patient questions and keep them informed of status.
• Prepare patients for examination, record medical history and visit purpose.
• Perform basic vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk and reception area.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
• Answer calls and manage daily mail and correspondence.
• Ensure reception is well maintained and welcoming.
• Perform opening/closing duties including cashing out and end-of-day procedures.
• Follow QA/QC logs and document equipment maintenance and repairs.
• All other duties as assigned.
