Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care and clerical duties. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, managing patient flow, and updating the EHR with vitals and allergies.

Typical duties encompass scheduling, issuing referrals, and maintaining supplies while adhering to safety protocols. Ability to travel to satellite offices is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination room and escort patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Documents vitals and updates in the EHR.
• Appropriately enters orders and schedules appointments in the PMS and EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders in a timely manner.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions when administering medications.
