VillageMD in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Medical Technician to assist physicians, document encounters in the EMR, manage patient flow, and ensure DOH-compliant lab operations in a fast-paced clinical setting. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program (CM credential preferred) with 4–6 months MA experience, ability to perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and strong communication skills.

Bilingual ability may be required depending on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program, with CM credential preferred and/or phlebotomy and EKG certifications.
• 4-6 months MA experience required.
• Able to conduct EKGs.
• Comfortable with phlebotomy, preferably 100+ blood draws.
• Experience with rapid bedside tests (UA, finger stick, rapid mono) preferred.
• Knowledge of third-party payer requirements preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Functional knowledge of computer systems.
• Bilingual skills may be required depending on site.

Responsabilités

• Assisting the physician with medical procedures within MA scope of practice, including external lab specimens, UA, EKG setups.
• Ensuring DOH compliance of site lab and exam rooms, logbooks, and supply handling.
• Documenting in the EMR for multiple patients per hour on average.
• Facilitating diagnostic tests and referrals for follow-up care.
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under provider guidance.
• Assisting with CLIA-waived tests and EKGs, acting as second set of hands for sling assistance.
• Ensuring the site is stocked with supplies.
• Maintaining a clean, courteous, professional environment.
• Providing compassionate patient care and training new Medical Assistants and Scribes.
