Dent Neurologic Institute seeks a patient care assistant to support clinical teams in Amherst, NY. You will help with patient care activities, prepare examination rooms, and coordinate scheduling, ensuring accurate records and compassionate service.

The role emphasizes adherence to HIPAA, strong communication, and careful handling of patient information, with opportunities for phlebotomy training and growth within the clinic.

Formación

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to assess needs and provide support.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities; problem solving.
• Familiar with general office equipment (fax, copier, multi-line phones).
• Ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy training will be offered.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate patient care activities and assist with examinations.
• Prepare supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Gather patient information, explain procedures and calm concerns.
• Enter prescriptions and testing data into records.
• Assist with insurance/compliance forms.
• Escort/transport patients to rooms.
• Monitor care plans and liaise with physicians.
• Answer calls and route inquiries to clinical staff.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and adjust provider schedules.
• Maintain clean, stocked examination rooms and inventory.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Support policy development and continuing education.
