Job Opening: Advanced PCC

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Allied Health, 5725 W. Las Positas Blvd.)

Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, 8 hours

Overview

As an Advanced PCC, this experienced role requires a thorough understanding of healthcare practices and the ability to apply theory into practice. The individual should independently execute a full spectrum of responsibilities, analyze complex issues, and devise solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Master PCC II skills and demonstrate proficiency as a model of professional development within the team.
  • Coordinate complex patient care, including device monitor scheduling, processing, and result tracking.
  • Assist with in-clinic procedures and coordinate with patients.
  • Monitor and report patient's lab results, vital signs, and other health data for medication management.
  • Handle insurance authorizations, including scheduling peer-to-peer reviews and submitting electronic prior authorizations.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments prior to hospital discharge.
  • Perform higher-level duties as defined by the department.
  • Coordinate transitional return-to-work assignments within the Workforce Health framework.
  • Utilize specialized third-party software for ambulatory multispecialty care and allergy/asthma clinics.
  • Superuser for medical devices in Gynecology: Clinitek & Trophon.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED, plus one of the following: completion of a medical assisting program, training by a licensed physician or podiatrist, or certification by a Medical Board of California-approved organization.
Experience
  • Minimum of four years of overall experience, including external experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, billing, and computer systems.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service skills in high-volume, stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of home health, care coordination, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to learn continuously and adapt to healthcare changes.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Compensation

Starting at $34.06 - $38.33 per hour, based on experience, education, and other factors. The final salary will be determined during the hiring process.
