Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow, and admissions. You will coordinate tests, enter orders in the PMS/EHR, manage forms and referrals, and help ensure a smooth transition of care.

Required are a High School Diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant Certification, and Heart saver certification. English communication, strong interpersonal skills, and 2–4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Medical Assistant Certification Required.
• Heart saver certification required.
• 2-4 years experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician, PA or NP with clerical duties, patient flow/care, procedures, scheduling hospital and ambulatory admissions.
• Schedule and enter diagnostic tests and procedures into orders management system, following workflows.
• Coordinate required testing prior to admission and ensure all information and consents are on site for patient’s admission/procedure.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in the PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and/or consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner in the PMS and EHR.
• Obtain vital signs and document accurately in EHR.
