Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant in a physician-led network serving communities across multiple platforms. The MA will support physicians, PAs, or NPs with patient flow, clerical duties, and care delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, document vitals and allergies in EHR, and coordinate scheduling and referrals to ensure smooth patient visits. A BLS certification and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room. Escorts patient into the room. Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visit.
• Documents allergies in EHR and reviews medication lists.
• Answers the telephone and directs calls or takes messages.
• Schedules appointments according to guidelines.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies and assists in ordering.
• Reconciles encounters daily and documents per policy.
• Documents vitals and assists with patient care and transitions of care.
