Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient assessment and care, coordinate with offices, and ensure accurate documentation. The role includes basic triage, charting, and preparing exam rooms.

You will assist with exams, manage supplies, educate patients on medications, handle referrals, and help train new staff. A High School diploma and BLS are required, with CMA/RMA preferred; OSHA training must be completed annually.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Annual OSHA training per Exposure Control Plan.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures; 3–5 years in health care setting preferred.
• CMS/Medicare regulatory requirements for Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on appointments, relays test results and coordinates referrals.
• Greets patients, takes vital signs, updates records, reconciles charts, handles refills within certification scope.
• Assists provider with examinations and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient area, sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies.
