Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient assessment, education and coordinated care under direct supervision of the provider. The role involves keeping accurate documentation, managing supplies, and supporting the office workflow to ensure high-quality care.

The MA will triage calls, take vital signs, assist with examinations, and perform related duties while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with OSHA and CLIA guidelines.

Qualifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support is required.
• MA CERT - Medical Assistant is required.
• Active certification/licensure options include RMA, CMA or equivalent.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on visits, relays test results and coordinates referrals.
• Greets patients, records vital signs, updates patient records, reconciles medications and manages secure messaging.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient areas, sets up equipment, sterilizes instruments and disposables.
• Provides patient education, coordinates care with other providers and ensures HIPAA compliance.
