Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient assessment, care coordination, and office-based services under direct supervision. Responsibilities include triage, vital signs, pre-exam procedures, and aiding providers during examinations.

Requires High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and MA certification with HIPAA/compliance awareness; OSHA training annually; 3–5 years healthcare experience preferred. Eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment.

Qualifications

• BLS within 3 months of hire/transfer.
• MA CERT required (RMA, CMA, CCMA or equivalent).
• CMS requirements to be employed via MyMichiganHealth.
• Mandatory OSHA training annually.
• Three to five years of healthcare experience, preferably in a physician clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on visits, relays test results, and coordinates consultations and testing with insurance pre-certification.
• Greet patients and perform routine pre-examination procedures, record vital signs, update patient records, and reconcile orders and allergies.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize instruments.
• Possibly travel to satellite clinics and perform light clerical duties as needed.
