Qualifications

• High School diploma or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Associate's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and document history.
• Assist with depression screening tools when applicable.
• Complete annual wellness visit screenings.
• Review/update medication lists in the EHR.
• Queue orders for screenings and prescriptions per AHN protocols.
• Perform back office testing per AHN policies.
• Assist with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a medical scribe with training.
• Follow up with patients via their preferred communication method.
• Notify patients of test results in a timely manner.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab checks.
• Document medications per policy and in the EHR.
• Handle clerical duties and potential travel between locations.
