Job summary

West Volusia Family & Sports Medicine in Deland/Orange City, FL is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports patient care, prepares patients, performs tests, and helps with treatments while maintaining efficient office operations.

Under supervision of providers, you will record vitals, manage charts, assist with exams and procedures, ensure HIPAA compliance, and help with referrals and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical knowledge including injections, EKG and phlebotomy.
• Experience with electronic medical records (eClinical Works preferred).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Record chief complaints and document observations in medical records.
• Take vital signs, height, weight, and vision tests.
• Perform tests such as EKGs, venipuncture, urine tests, and spirometry.
• Assist providers with treatments and exams, including injections.
• Prepare referral forms, prescriptions, and insurance authorizations.
• Maintain patient rooms and labs with stock and cleanliness.
• Transcribe orders and manage chart documentation.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and office policies; handle messages and sign-offs.
