Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved program or equivalent work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current certification from an approved MA credentialing agency (CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/RCMA/ARMA/AMT/NAHP).

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under the direction of the physician or APP in an ambulatory setting.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation; assists with examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, and education; schedules tests and referrals as needed.
• Assists business office with reception, scheduling, and discharge of patients.
