Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience providing administrative duties and clinical care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic setting preferred.
• Computer literacy required.
• Broad range of administrative and technical skills in healthcare.
• Makes decisions based on departmental policy.
• Demonstrates critical thought and can work independently.
• Provides feedback to assist decision making.
• Documents detailed information in patient chart.
• Strong listening skills to maintain cooperative associations.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient from waiting room and escorts to exam room.
• Records intake information in patient medical record and other department data.
• Records critical lab values and reports adverse reactions to the provider.
• Prepares patient and provider with setup and cleanup of procedures.
• Observes universal precautions and aseptic techniques.
• Assists with administrative duties.
• Educates patients in conjunction with the provider.
• Inventory exam rooms and restock supplies to par level.
• Perform daily cleaning of exam rooms and clinic areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
