Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System in Moss Bluff, LA seeks a Medical Assistant to provide provider support and direct patient care under supervision. You will work with the Practice Director and Nurse Manager to maintain high standards of care and compliant procedures.

Responsibilities include patient intake, charting, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and educating patients. CPR is required; MA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in physician practice or ambulatory clinic preferred.
• Computer literacy required.
• Strong administrative and technical skills in healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient from waiting room and escorts to exam room.
• Records intake information in the patient medical record and charts other department info.
• Records critical lab values and reports to the provider.
• Prepares patient and provider with setup and cleanup of procedures.
• Observes universal precautions and aseptic techniques and proper use of instruments.
• Provides support with patient education in conjunction with the provider.
• Inventoryes exam rooms and restocks supplies; communicates needs.
• Performs administrative duties as needed.
• Supports daily clinic operations and maintenance.
